Red Riding Hood (2011) – Trailer

Director, Catherine Hardwicke, of the Twilight saga’s first film is at it once again though be it not of Twilight, but rather of young, adolescent, Ms. Little Red Riding Hood. It almost sounds sweet. I cannot help but question what the matter is with Hollywood, or perhaps even society as one can often blame society when a harmless, almost innocent children’s story is turned into a scandalous affair. Grandma would not be pleased of that I am quite certain. Nevertheless, Grandma’s repose is beneath a belly of fur and guts with wait, Red Riding Hood at her side? Cowboys & Aliens (2011) – Trailer

The first trailer for Jon Favreau’s new film Cowboys & Aliens—which I am in the habit of calling Cowboys & Indians, though I assure you it is anything but—was released just yesterday. Based on a graphic novel of the same name, Cowboys & Aliens sees Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, and Paul Dano in a western against, well, aliens. The trailer, after the jump, displays what looks to be a near campy film with riotous though, limited, fun.

I must admit I do enjoy Craig, Ford, Rockwell, Dano and even Wilde (House), so perhaps it is the concept I am not yet sold on. That being said I do believe the film does have a few things going for it. Robert Downey Jr. was cast to play the lead of Jake Lonergan, a lone cowboy of sorts, but do to scheduling conflicts Daniel Craig soon replaced him for what is no doubt of the better. RDJ is a tremendous actor, one whom I see among the best, but this role will certainly fair better with Craig as its lead. Another point of notoriety is that Stephen Spielberg is attached to the film as one of its producers. Read more of this post
